Dougie has worked on an impressive list of international sporting events, including 7 Olympic Games, 2 World Cups, 4 Commonwealth Games, 8 US Masters, 18 Open Championships and 30 Scottish Cup Finals - not one of which has featured Clyde, the team he has always supported!
He has also appeared on a variety of topical programmes and quiz shows including ‘The Weakest Link’ ‘Ready Steady Cook’ ‘The Games’ and ‘Banzai ‘.
Outwith broadcasting Dougie is a popular and highly professional awards and conference host with an ease of presentation to ensure a sharp, smooth corporate occasion. He is also an extremely entertaining and humorous after-dinner speaker, utilising his broadcasting experiences and the personalities he has encountered to deliver speeches ideal for the corporate audience.
At corporate golf events his anecdotes include his experiences of working with some of the biggest names in world golf - Ernie Els, Padraig Harrington, Tiger Woods and his long time friends Colin Montgomerie, Lee Westwood and Sam Torrance, to name just a few.
Dougie has entertained a wide variety and mixture of audiences everywhere from the House of Lords to a North Sea Oil Platform. He’s also interviewed former US President Bill Clinton at the Royal Albert Hall!
Married with three daughters, Dougie is a law graduate and lives in his native Glasgow, enjoys food and wine, travelling, and playing and speaking at corporate golf days across the UK.
