LESLEY RIDDOCH

Lesley Riddoch was born in England in 1960, to Highland parents, grew up in Belfast and lives near Dundee. She’s a writer, journalist and broadcaster – former Assistant Editor and now regular columnist with the Scotsman and founder of feminist magazine Harpies and Quines. Riddoch’s two hour daily show on Radio Scotland won two SONY Speech Broadcaster Awards.

Since 2004 she’s run her own independent Dundee-based production company, Feisty Ltd. Riddoch was a trustee of the Isle of Eigg Heritage Trust which devised the buyout of the Island by its community in 1997.

In 2009, she was appointed by Environment Minister Mike Russell, to Chair a Task Force on the Island of Rum, to transfer assets from the ownership of Scottish Natural Heritage to the community. I

n 2007 she published her account of a radio series and cycle journey up the Outer Hebrides; Riddoch on the Outer Hebrides, (Luath) now in its second edition.
